Graphing Calculators for Math

Students enrolled in all math classed: Algebra 1, Geometry, Intermediate Algebra, Algebra 2, Honors Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Honors Pre-Caculus, AP Calculus AB & BC, and AP Statistics Math classes will be expected to have a graphing calculator.  Students will need to have their calculators the first day of class. The TI-84 series can be used on the PARCC, SAT, and AP exams/assessments.

CHS requires graphing calculators for math classes for the following reasons:

1. The state and county math standards require students to use the technology.

2. Assignments depend on students having access to a graphing calculator both in class and at home.

3. Students are required to use a graphing calculator on two of the four sections of the AP Calculus tests and all sections of the AP Statistics exam.

4. The SAT and the ACT college entrance tests permit the use of graphing calculators.
