On the Job Experience

Conifer High School students can register for a non-CTE course for practical work or employment experiences. It allows individuals to earn academic credit for the knowledge and skills acquired through their work experiences.

Jeffco Requirements

  • A student can receive high school credit for employment in or outside of the school day hours. The maximum is .5 elective credit per semester and a total of 2.0 transcript credits.
  • The student must be employed, at will, and meet all classroom expectations.
  • OJE registration must have prior approval from the school principal.
  • Work cannot exceed 20 hours per week without approval from the teacher or coordinator, parent or guardian and employer.
  • The student will complete 100 or more hours of employment throughout the semester.
